Phone service restored

Our phones are back up and functioning now.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  If you have left us a message, please allow us extra time to return your call.

Phones are down

We apologize for the inconvenience, but our phone system is down.  We are unable to answer your calls or access our voicemail right now.  We will get back to you as soon as we can.  If you need immediate assistance from Dr. Kind or Dr. Chang, you may reach them through our answering service, 415-565-4402.  Other inquiries can be sent to susy@kindchangplasticsurgery.com.

Video consults available

During the mandated shelter in place order, we will be limiting office visits to urgent problems and post-op visits only.  We will be scheduling all new consultations and follow up visits remotely via a video chat.  If you would like to arrange a virtual appointment with one of the doctors, please call the office to schedule.

OFFICE HOURS AND SURGERY SCHEDULE WILL BE LIMITED FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS

The safety of our patients is paramount to us.  Due to the recent coronavirus pandemic, we will be curtailing our usual business hours and rescheduling all non-urgent appointments.  Additionally, many of the surgery facilities at which we operate have made the decision to cancel all elective surgery.  This does not include cancer related operations at this time.  If you have an office appointment or elective surgery scheduled in the coming weeks, you will receive a call to cancel or reschedule your appointment.  If you leave a message at the office, please understand that we are busier than usual fielding calls and will get back to you as soon as possible.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Phone service disruption this morning.

We are switching our phone and internet service to our new office this morning. There may be a temporary disruption in our service while we transition. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Kind Chang Plastic Surgery is moving

Kind Chang Plastic Surgery will be moving our office this weekend, but don’t worry, we’re not going far. As of Monday April 1, we will be located across the hall in the medical office building at 45 Castro Street. The suite will remain #410. Moving can be disruptive, so please bear with us during this transition. We are looking forward to providing the same great care for our patients in a new, larger office.

Long-term patient-reported outcomes in breast reconstruction after mastectomy

A new study out of the University of Michigan and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York has found that patients who underwent breast reconstruction using their own tissue instead of an implant reported significantly greater satisfaction with their breasts, psychosocial well-being, and sexual well-being at two years compared.  If you have breast cancer and are considering mastectomy and reconstruction, or are dissatisfied with an implant reconstruction, it is important to know your options.

Breast reconstruction

Our breast reconstruction patients often ask for helpful resources to educate themselves on breast reconstruction.   A good resource is breastreconusa.org.  This website is produced by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and The Plastic Surgery Foundation (The PSF) and is dedicated to building awareness around breast reconstruction options.
